2024 Mercedes E-Class to be available in India this festive season in a LWB versionMercedes-Benz is gearing up to introduce the sixth-generation E-Class Long Wheelbase to the Indian market on 9th October, 2024. This highly anticipated luxury sedan will go head-to-head with the BMW 5 Series LWB, offering a blend of design enhancements, cutting-edge technology and improved comfort.The new E-Class LWB showcases a refreshed design with a reworked front fascia and distinctive LED headlamps. At the rear, the car sports quad-tail lights, which incorporate star-shaped brake lights for a unique visual touch, while the flush-fitting door handles add to its sleek, modern appeal.Inside, the E-Class stands out with Mercedes’ latest “Superscreen” setup. This includes a large 14.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system at the centre, an additional screen for the front passenger and a 12.2-inch digital instrument cluster for the driver. The cabin is designed to cater to luxury and comfort, featuring power-reclining rear seats with an ottoman function, offering a more relaxing experience for rear passengers. The sedan also comes equipped with air suspension and rear-wheel steering, enhancing ride quality and manoeuvrability.Under the hood, the new E-Class LWB will be available with two engine options – a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and a 2.0-litre diesel, both supported by a mild-hybrid system for added efficiency. Power will be delivered through a 9-speed automatic transmission.As it enters the competitive luxury sedan segment, the new-gen E-Class LWB will directly rival the BMW 5 Series LWB, a well-established contender in the Indian market.
