2025 Yamaha YZF-R15 Launched Overseas with New Features and Colour Option
For the Indonesian market, Yamaha, the Japanese bike manufacturer, has updated the YZF-R15, its entry-level sports bike. With an extensive feature list, the sports bike is one of the best options in its category. The next-gen model packs several features such as smartphone connectivity, already available in the India-spec R15. In addition, the bike’s appearance has been improved with a new all-black paint job. Other available colour options include grey/silver, grey/black, and blue. However, it is important to note that despite significant features and aesthetic updates, the bike retains its mechanical core. It also includes a fully digital instrument cluster that displays ride tracking, onboard diagnostics, periodic maintenance reminders, and other information apart from the vital details. 2025 Yamaha YZF-R15: Engine and Hardware As mentioned earlier, the 2025 YZF-R15 retains the same engine as before. The bike is powered by a 155cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine with variable valve actuation technology (VVT). The unit churns out 18.1bhp of maximum power at 10,000rpm and 14.2Nm of peak torque at 8,500rpm. It comes mated to a six-speed gearbox. On the hardware front, the new R15 sports a monoshock in the back and inverted telescopic forks up front. Besides this, the motorcycle has dual-channel ABS and disc brakes on both ends. The India-spec variant also includes traction control, which is absent on the Indonesian-spec model. Built on the Deltabox frame, the bike has a fuel tank capacity of 11-litre and a kerb weight of 141 kg. It rides on 17-inch alloy wheels. The Yamaha R15, which directly competes with the KTM RC 200 in the Indian market, is priced between Rs 1.83 lakh and Rs 1.98 lakh. Both prices are ex-showroom figures. It continues to be a competitive small-size sports bike thanks to its blend of cutting-edge technologies and dependable performance.
