4 Upcoming Skoda & Volkswagen EVs In India To Watch Out For

GaadiWaadi –
Here we have explained about the 4 possible upcoming EVs from Skoda and Volkswagen in India over the next couple of years
Skoda and Volkswagen India have planned a slew of launches in the EV segment and as expected most of them are SUVs which is exactly what Indians want right now. Here we have explained about the 4 possible upcoming EVs from Skoda and VW:
1. Skoda Enyaq
The Enyaq had been showcased at the 2024 Bharat Mobility Expo and will be Skoda’s flagship once launched. The exterior features black inserts and aero-inspired alloy wheels, wraparound LED taillights, and an integrated spoiler. The SUV is equipped with a 77kWh battery pack and dual electric motors, delivering a combined output of 265hp. It is underpinned by the MEB platform which is shared with the Volkswagen ID.4.

Safety features include nine airbags, ESC, TPMS and a 360-degree camera. Technological features include a 13-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a head-up display, a panoramic sunroof, powered driver seat with massage function, heated front and rear seats, and three-zone climate control.
2. VW ID.4
VW earlier announced the launch of the ID.4 for later this year and it will be its first EV in our country but we haven’t heard from them regarding this EV since. VW has no plans of manufacturing it in India for now which is why it will likely be bringing the vehicle via the CBU route and based on its sales it will decide whether to localize any of its parts in the future.

It will be equipped with an 82kWh battery pack which provides a range of up to 500kms and is powered by a motor that puts out 300bhp and 500Nm. It can go from 0 to 100 kmph in 6 seconds and the top speed is limited to 180 kmph. It will be equipped with a digital driver display and a huge 12-inch touchscreen infotainment with wireless smartphone connectivity.
3. Skoda Elroq

The other big BEV name will be the Skoda Elroq EV, Skoda’s first compact SUV that will likely make its India debut sometime next year or in 2026. The SUV will be around 4.5 meters long and ride on the VW group’s MEB platform. This too is expected to be a CBU, at least initially and based on demand may switch to a CKD route.
4. Skoda Epiq
Representational
The production-ready version of the Skoda Epiq was unveiled in concept form earlier this year. It’s expected to be the beginning for Skoda’s A0 BEV and will pick up much of its design cues, feature list and powertrain options. This will be a crucial car in the Indian context as the Epiq concept is 4.1 meters in length which means that Skoda could create a sub-4.0-metre version. This will then go up against cars like the Tata Nexon EV and the Mahindra XUV400 EV.
