A video that has gone viral on social media shows Mandira Bedi posing with her brand-new electric vehicle. She is accompanied by her children. The post doesn’t reveal any detail about when exactly she made this purchase or why she chose the C40 over its rivals. The Volvo C40 Recharge features a 78 kWh battery pack that offers a maximum range of 530 km in the WLTP cycle. In India, the coupe-crossover is available in a single variant that has a twin-motor AWD setup pumping out a maximum of 403 bhp and 660 Nm. The EV can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 4.7 seconds and has an electronically-limited top whack of 180 km/h.

The C40 Recharge offers a fast-charging facility through which the vehicle can be recharged at up to 150 kW. Its battery can be replenished from 10 to 80 percent in 37 minutes. Inside, it carries a 12.3-inch digital instrument console along with a 9.0-inch infotainment unit that runs on Android OS. The equipment on offer even includes Apple CarPlay, Harman Kardon audio unit, dual-zone climate control, and vegan leather upholstery. The highlight of the safety pack is the Level 3 ADAS suite which even has an auto one-pedal drive system.

Earlier this month, Volvo Car India announced the sale of 1000 EVs in the country. The carmaker launched its first-ever electric car in November 2022. The vehicles have been delivered to their respective owners through the carmaker’s online sales model. The Volvo XC40 Recharge and the Volvo C40 Recharge account for 28 percent of the Swedish carmaker’s total sales in the country.
