Citroën Basalt Coupe SUV–Unveil on Aug 2nd

The Citroen Basalt SUV Coupe is one of the most awaited models in India. Now, Citroen India is set to unveil the model on August 2. Moreover, we expect the French automaker to reveal the price of the model in the coming weeks.
What do we Speculate?
Price
We expect Citroen to price the Basalt very aggressively. We can expect it to be priced between Rs 11 and 15 lakhs. This is considering all the factors like, it will have more kit and features on offer than the C3 Aircross. At present, prices for the Citroen C3 Aircross SUV starts at Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The upcoming Citroen Basalt SUV is to be positioned as a premium offering with a higher price tag.

Interior
The teasers of the coupe SUV have not revealed much about the interiors. However we at GoMechanic speculate a few things:

It can get more premium elements on the inside.
We’ve seen in the previous images released by Citroen that there is no sunroof. However, we do expect Citroen to offer a sunroof in the top-spec offerings later on.
We expect the model to come with connected car tech
The SUV can get a fully digital instrument cluster
Clever storage and cubby holes can also be expected
A tablet-like center infotainment screen

Design
The design of the Citroen Basalt is one of its unique highlights as the model flaunts a Coupe-like design with a sloping roofline. This segment is all-new in the Indian car market.
Most of the exterior parts will be shared with the C3 Aircross. We can see in the latest teaser, that the door handle is the conventional Flap-type. From the images and teasers, we have not noticed any keyhole near the door handles. Again, it would be placed exactly where the C3 Aircross has it. The car has the same front fascia as that of the C3 Aircross.
What changes we can observe between C3 Aircross and Basalt are:

The front can have body coloured panel just below the Citroen logo while the Aircross has thet in gloss black color.
Different style of diamond-cut alloy wheels
No roof rails
And that elegant sloping roofline

Safety Kit
It is also noted that, unlike the Citroen C3 Aircross SUV, the upcoming Citroen Basalt SUV Coupe comes equipped with rear disc brakes. However, we are not sure if the rear disc brakes are part of the standard equipment or limited to just the higher-spec variant.
Powertrain
In terms of powertrain, the Citroen Basalt is likely to come with the same powertrain as the Citroen C3 Aircross SUV. Moreover, we also expect to see the automatic variant of the Citroen Basalt Vision at the launch itself.
