MG Cloud EV Is Almost Here – 1st Teaser Out!

The 2024 festive season will witness a new product launch from MG Motor India – the MG Cloud EV. It’s an electric MPV that claims to offer the comfort of a sedan and the space of an SUV. Aiming to create buzz among buyers ahead of its market arrival, the carmaker has released a teaser video highlighting some of its key features and design elements. The Cloud EV will have a panoramic sunroof, a dual screen setup (one functioning as an infotainment system and another for instrumental functionalities) with AC vents placed below it, and a two-spoke multifunction steering wheel with mounted controls.
The Cloud EV’s global-spec model also comes with features such as a 360-degree camera, fully reclinable front seats with a ‘sofa mode,’ an ADAS (advanced driver assistance system) suite, and circular door-mounted speakers. As of now, it’s unclear whether these features will make their way to the India-spec MG Cloud EV. Some of its design highlights include all LED connected headlamps, a signature grille with an LED light bar above it, an illuminated MG logo, flush door handles, full-width LED light bars at the rear, sharply raked front and rear windscreens, extended quarter glass sections, and a large glasshouse.

Powertrain specifications for the Indian market are yet to be revealed. Globally, the electric MPV is offered with two battery pack options – a 37.9kWh and a 50.6kWh – delivering ranges of 360km and up to 460km, respectively. It also has a 134bhp electric motor mounted on the front axle. When it comes to dimensions, the Cloud EV measures 4295mm in length, 1850mm in width, and 1652mm in height.
The Cloud EV will be the third electric offering from MG in India. Here, it will be positioned against the Mahindra XUV400 EV and Tata Nexon EV. Prices of the electric MPV are expected to be below Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom).
