The sunroof is one of the highly popular features in modern-day cars, especially in the Indian market. Considering the fascination with this feature among buyers, Hyundai Motor India has introduced a new, more affordable S(O)+ variant of the Venue subcompact SUV. Priced at Rs 10 lakh, the Hyundai Venue S(O)+ sits between the S(O) and SX variants, which are priced at Rs 9.89 lakh and Rs 11.05 lakh, respectively.

Besides an electric sunroof, the new Venue S(O)+ variant comes with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, a digital instrument cluster, a rear parking camera, six airbags, hill-start assist control, electronic stability control, tire pressure monitoring system, and LED projector headlamps with DRLs.

It’s important to note that the new Hyundai Venue S(O)+ variant is available only with the 1.2L, four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine that’s good enough for 120 bhp. The transmission on offer is a 5-speed manual gearbox.

Talking about Hyundai’s future plans, the South Korean automaker will bring in the Hyundai Creta EV as its major product offering in early 2025. The electric SUV will carry a few EV-specific design elements while sharing its platform and features with the regular Creta. It will be the first mass-market electric model from Hyundai, competing against the upcoming Maruti Suzuki eVX and Tata Curvv EV.

Official details of the Creta EV will be revealed near its launch. However, the electric SUV is reported to be offered with a 45 kWh battery pack and a front-axle-mounted electric motor. The e-motor will deliver a maximum power of 138 bhp and 255 Nm of torque. The same setup is already offered on the globally sold Hyundai Kona EV.

Hyundai will also introduce an entry-level, small electric SUV in the second half of 2026 – the Hyundai Inster. Based on the global-spec Casper, the EV will compete against the Tata Punch EV. The company has also planned a Maruti Suzuki Fronx and Tata Nexon rival SUV, based on the Hyundai Bayon crossover. The model is likely to share its engine setup with the i20 hatchback.
