2,555 Maruti Alto K10 Recalled Over Steering Gearbox Defect

Maruti Suzuki has issued a recall for the Alto K10 hatchback due to a possible defect in the steering gearbox assembly. The carmaker has advised customers not to drive their vehicles until the defective part has been replaced, as it might affect the steerability of the car. A total of 2,555 units of the Alto K10 are covered in the latest recall exercise.
Customers of the affected units will be contacted by Maruti Suzuki’s authorized dealerships for the vehicle’s inspection, or they can visit their nearest MSI service center for the same. The replacement of the faulty part will be done at no cost. It is important to note that the company has not yet mentioned the manufacturing dates of the faulty units.
Talking about Maruti Suzuki’s next product launch, the Indo-Japanese automaker is ready to launch the next-generation Dzire compact sedan. While its official launch date is yet to be revealed, the model is likely to hit showrooms around the 2024 festive season. Major design changes and feature upgrades will be made to the new Dzire, along with the brand’s new Z-Series petrol engine. The compact sedan will feature a new 1.2L, three-cylinder petrol engine replacing the existing K-Series unit. However, the transmissions will be carried forward from the current generation.
Interior changes of the new 2024 Maruti Dzire will be inspired by the Fronx and Baleno. With the generation change, the compact sedan might get a single-pane sunroof, which will be a first in the segment. There might also be a 360-degree camera, a larger infotainment unit, new seat upholstery, new HVAC switches, a slightly updated instrument cluster, and more.
Similar to the new Swift, the new-gen Maruti Dzire might get six airbags, rear parking sensors, ISOFIX anchors, hill start assist, ABS with EBD, and electronic stability control as standard safety features.
