The Citroen C3 is the first mass-market offering from the French automaker in India that directly competes with the Tata Punch. It also goes up against cars like the Maruti Suzuki Fronx, Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger, and other sub-4-meter SUVs in terms of pricing. Recently, the company introduced the C3 hatchback with a few feature upgrades and a minor price hike. The model lineup is now available in six variants: Live, Feel, Shine, Shine DT, Shine Turbo DT, and Shine Turbo AT, priced at Rs 6.16 lakh, Rs 7.47 lakh, Rs 8.10 lakh, Rs 8.25 lakh, and Rs 9.30 lakh, respectively.

One must note that the price of the top-end Shine Turbo AT variant is yet to be announced. All the aforementioned prices are ex-showroom. The price of the entry-level Live variant remains unchanged, while the Feel variant has become more expensive by Rs 20,000. The prices of the Shine, Shine DT, and Shine Turbo DT variants have been increased by Rs 30,000. The Feel DT (dual-tone) and Feel Turbo variants have been discontinued.

In terms of features, the updated Citroen C3 offers LED projector headlamps, electrically adjustable wing mirrors with integrated turn indicators, a digital instrument cluster, and automatic climate control. The power window switches, which were earlier positioned on the center console, are now placed on each door. All variants of the C3 hatchback are now equipped with six airbags.

Under the hood, things remain unchanged. The updated C3 continues to use the same 1.2L naturally aspirated petrol and 1.2L turbo petrol engines, producing 82 bhp with 115 Nm and 110 bhp, respectively. Transmission choices include a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic (available only on the top-end Shine trim).

Recently, Citroen launched the Basalt coupe SUV at an introductory starting price of Rs 7.99 lakh (ex-showroom). It directly competes with the newly-launched Tata Curvv, along with mid-size SUVs including the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Honda Elevate, and Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara.
