KTM 390 SMC R Supermoto Bike Spied On Test
KTM is planning to release the next-generation 390 Adventure in early 2025, but there’s a twist. A test mule for the forthcoming 390 SMC R supermoto bike has been spotted testing in Europe, ahead of its expected appearance at EICMA 2024. The spy photographs reveal numerous critical elements regarding the new model, indicating that it has the same frame and subframe as the 390 Adventure. Additionally, the fuel tank, tail section, and beak fender look to be identical to those of the 390 Adventure, implying considerable similarities between the two bikes.
The KTM 390 SMC R’s primary modifications are its chassis geometry, front suspension, and wheels. Unlike the 390 Adventure’s 21/18-inch spoked wheels, the spotted photographs show that the 390 SMC R will have 17-inch alloy wheels with stickier tyres for improved traction. The handlebar and footrest locations have also been modified to reflect a supermoto’s performance-oriented qualities.
The bike will be powered by a 399cc liquid-cooled LC4c engine, which is already offered on the 390 Duke in India and produces 45.3 horsepower and 39 Nm when paired to a six-speed transmission. Like the 390 Duke, the new 390 SMC R is expected to include a number of modern electronic rider aids, such as cornering ABS, traction control, launch control, and numerous ride modes.
