2 Lakh Maruti Fronx Sold So Far

Maruti Suzuki Fronx, the micro SUV from the Indo-Japanese automaker, has achieved yet another sales milestone in the country. The model has crossed the 2 lakh sales mark in a record time of 17.3 months, becoming the fastest new model to achieve this. The carmaker managed to sell 1 lakh units of the Fronx within 10 months of its market arrival, and the next 1 lakh units were sold in just 7.3 months. Partho Banerjee, Senior Executive Officer, Marketing & Sales, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, said that the Maruti Fronx “has captured the attention of first-time buyers while becoming the preferred choice among buyers upgrading within the segment.”

Currently, the Maruti Fronx model lineup is available in five trims – Sigma, Delta, Delta+, Zeta, and Alpha – priced from Rs 7.51 lakh to Rs 13.03 lakh. Buyers have two engine choices: a 90bhp 1.2L naturally aspirated petrol engine and a 1.0L Boosterjet turbo petrol engine. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual, a 5-speed AMT, and a 6-speed torque converter automatic.

In other updates, Maruti Suzuki is developing its own strong hybrid system (HEVs), which will debut with the Fronx facelift in 2025. This new powertrain will be offered on mass-market Maruti Suzuki models, including the Swift, Baleno, Brezza, and an upcoming small MPV. With the strong hybrid update, the Maruti Fronx will receive the new 1.2L, 3-cylinder Z12E petrol engine, which powers the Swift hatchback. Minimal changes are also expected to be made inside and out.

Maruti Suzuki is also gearing up to launch the new-generation Dzire compact sedan in the coming months, which will be followed by the brand’s first-ever electric SUV in early 2025. The all-new Maruti Dzire will feature significantly improved styling, distinct from the new Swift. Major changes will also be made inside the cabin. Under the hood, the compact sedan will feature the Swift’s Z12E petrol engine.
