Triptii Dimri Said She Cried A Lot After Facing Criticism For Her Scenes In “Animal”

Triptii Dimri has quickly become one of the most promising talents of Bollywood since her debut in “Poster Boys” (2017). However, it was her role in the 2023 action-thriller “Animal” starring alongside Ranbir Kapoor that truly cemented her status as a household name. Her portrayal of Zoya in “Animal” not only garnered widespread acclaim but also earned her the title of the country’s “National Crush”. Well, with fame came scrutiny, and Triptii faced harsh criticism which deeply affected her.

In an interview on a YouTube channel, Triptii Dimri opened up about the challenges she faced following the release of “Animal”. Despite her success, the criticism she received after the movie took an emotional toll on her. Triptii revealed that she was unprepared for the wave of negative comments, particularly regarding her intimate scenes with Ranbir Kapoor. Known for playing strong female characters in previous films, her bold scenes in “Animal” left audiences divided, leading to mixed reactions on social media.
Triptii Dimri admitted that she used to cry because she got mad while thinking what is being written about her and this certainly highlights the emotional distress which she experienced from some unnecessarily harsh remarks.
During this difficult period, Triptii found comfort in her sister’s advice. Her sister reminded her to take pride in her journey and acknowledge the hard work she had put into reaching this level of success. This support helped Triptii shift her focus away from negativity. Reflecting on her emotional response, she explained that sometimes crying is the body’s way of telling that the trauma should be released. After giving herself time to process her feelings, she began to feel better and more resilient.

Before “Animal”, Triptii Dimri described herself as more carefree and relaxed. However, her involvement in such a high-profile project brought increased scrutiny and work demands. She acknowledged that while the opportunities and love she has received are overwhelming, the criticism was a new challenge. She said that she didn’t get criticised before “Animal” but then it must be the side-effect of working in the mainstream cinema.
