Raptee.HV Launches India’s First High-Voltage Electric Motorcycle, T30
Raptee.HV, a Chennai-based electric vehicle startup, has made a significant mark in India’s electric two-wheeler market with the launch of the country’s first high-voltage electric motorcycle, the T30. Unlike traditional electric bikes, the T30 integrates high-voltage technology typically seen in electric cars, offering performance that rivals 250-300cc internal combustion engine (ICE) motorcycles.
Key Features and Performance
The standout feature of the Raptee T30 is its compatibility with 13,500 CCS2 car charging stations across India, a first for any two-wheeler. The T30 comes equipped with an onboard charger, allowing users to charge their bikes at car charging points, a major advantage given the growing charging infrastructure. The number of these stations is expected to double in the next year, expanding the T30’s usability across more regions.
The motorcycle is priced at ₹2.39 lakhs, positioning it competitively against traditional 250-300cc ICE motorcycles. With an IDC estimated range of 200 km and a real-world range of over 150 km per charge, the T30 delivers practical riding capabilities. It accelerates from 0 to 60 km/h in under 3.5 seconds, offering a level of performance comparable to petrol-powered counterparts, but without the environmental impact.
Durability and Tech Integration
Raptee has focused on ensuring durability, providing an IP67-rated battery that meets all regulatory safety standards. The T30 comes with an 8-year warranty or up to 80,000 km, giving riders long-term confidence in their purchase.
In terms of software, the T30 features advanced electronics developed in-house by Raptee. The motorcycle runs on a custom-built operating system based on Linux, providing a user-friendly and highly responsive experience. Riders can expect features like over-the-air software updates and dynamic system improvements as Raptee continues to refine its offerings.
Color Options and Availability
The Raptee T30 will be available in four color options: Horizon Red, Arctic White, Mercury Grey, and Eclipse Black. The motorcycle is set to begin deliveries in Chennai and Bangalore in January 2025, with plans to expand to other cities where the adoption of electric vehicles is on the rise.
Looking Ahead
Raptee plans to open its flagship Tech Store.HV experience centers in Chennai, which will provide customers with an immersive experience, including factory tours to showcase how the motorcycles are built. Additionally, the company is exploring digital and direct-to-consumer offerings alongside traditional dealership models to enhance customer engagement.
