In the table of top 10 SUVs in H1 FY2025, Tata Punch led the way ahead of Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Brezza and Mahindra Scorpio
In the sales chart of the top 10 SUVs in the first half of the existing financial year, Tata Punch finished on top ahead of the Hyundai Creta and Maruti Suzuki Brezza. The Punch garnered a total of 1,01,820 units in the first six months of this FY as against 72,626 units with a YoY positive volume increase of 40.1 per cent.
The Tata Punch was also the only SUV to breach past the one lakh mark in this time period. The Hyundai Creta was the second most sold SUV and the midsize SUV segment leader in H1 FY2025 as 96,416 units were recorded against 83,693 units during the corresponding period twelve months ago with a YoY positive growth of 15.2 per cent.
The Maruti Suzuki Brezza came in third with a total of 93,659 unit sales as against 81,928 units with a YoY sales growth of 14.3 per cent. The combined sales of the Mahindra Scorpio N and Scorpio Classic resulted in a domestic tally of 81,293 units as against 59,849 units with a YoY sales surge of 35.8 per cent in India.

The Fronx has been the latest success story for the largest car manufacturer in India as it posted 73,841 unit sales as against 63,477 units during the same period twelve months ago with a YoY growth of 16.3 per cent. Maruti Suzuki had three SUVs within the top ten as the Grand Vitara midsize SUV finished in the eighth position.
The five-seater recorded a total of 55,751 units as against 59,738 units with a YoY negative sales growth of 6.6 per cent. In the second half of the table, the Tata Nexon finished sixth with 72,350 units as against 78,975 in H1 FY2024 with a YoY drop of 8.3 per cent. The Hyundai Venue came in seventh with 56,521 unit sales.

The Kia Sonet was the ninth most sold SUV in India in H1 FY2025 as 38,618 units were sold as against 45,852 units with a YoY dip of 15.7 per cent. The Mahindra XUV 3XO finished tenth with 50,501 unit sales as against 29,767 units with a YoY surge of 69.6 per cent.
