Hyundai Grand i10 Nios CNG gets dual cylinder tech to get additional boot spaceHyundai Grand i10 Nios Hy-CNG Duo launched with dual-cylinder CNG technology. It is priced at Rs. 7.75 lakhs for the Magna trim and Rs. 8.30 lakhs (all prices, ex-showroom) for the Sportz trim. The new Hy-CNG Duo variant offers increased boot space due to the twin-cylinder setup. This addition complements Hyundai’s existing CNG lineup, which includes the recently launched Exter with a similar configuration.The dual-cylinder option is priced at a premium of Rs. 7000/- over the single-cylinder CNG versions, which remain available. The Nios CNG variants are powered by a 1.2-litre four-cylinder engine that produces 69 HP and 95 Nm of torque on CNG and 83 HP and 114 Nm of torque when running on petrol. Unlike the petrol variants, which offer a choice of a 5-speed AMT, the CNG variants come only with a 5-speed manual transmission option.The introduction of the dual-cylinder CNG setup in the Nios positions it competitively against other models in the segment. Notably, the Tata Tiago also features a dual-cylinder CNG system, with prices ranging from Rs. 6.60 lakhs to Rs. 8.35 lakhs for manual variants. Additionally, Maruti Suzuki offers CNG options with the Wagon R (Rs. 6.45-6.80 lakhs) and Celerio (Rs. 6.74 lakhs), though these models do not feature the dual-cylinder setup.Hyundai’s decision to offer a dual-cylinder CNG variant aims to address the space constraints typically associated with CNG kits.
