In-Hand Salary, Structure, and Allowances

CDS ( Combined Defence Services exam ) is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission for the recruitment of individuals who want to serve the nation by joining the Indian Armed Services. After clearing all the levels of the CDS exam individuals are selected for various posts including a lieutenant in the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force. CDS Training Period Salary

After clearing the CDS exam the aspirants will have to undergo a training period of 18 to 19 months as per the department selected. The selected are sent to institutions like the Indian Naval Academy, Indian Air Force Academy, and Officer Training Academy. As per the institute, the training stipend is provided to the candidates which is INR 56,100/- per month for the year 2024. The stipend is almost equal to the starting salary of the CDS Posts. Military Allowances

The military officers are provided with allowances other than the in-hand salary, the allowance amount or type is based on the rank of the officer like lieutenant, colonel, major general, and brigadier.

The government responsibly takes care of military officers and their families via various grants, allocations, health benefits, security, education, and accommodation. Every facility that a military officer gets is not entertained by any other people or citizens due to the value and responsibility of the post.

The Lieutenant and brigadier ranks get a fixed allowance of INR 15,000/- per month and the other posts get an allowance based on the policies and requirements of the government.
