I think all the trolling has made her get a rather bleak outlook at things (which seems very much the reality as well)
In addition to the exotic/glam factor I also think it’s easier for producers to control actresses from the north. They mostly don’t understand the language, hence they’re likely to ask less questions and demand less. They’re happy to be the eye candy and their ambition in the industry is different(and more suitable for the producers)
A lot of ‘TN born’ heroines today subscribe to the ‘no glamour’ policy, and they are getting good roles. But even today the non-TN heroines have progressed very less in terms of their impact in the story.
