Dr. Upendra Bhojani, School & DBT/Wellcome Have confidence in India Alliance Senior fellow at the Institute of Community Health and fitness Bengaluru participated in the 64th ITM Colloquium 2023. The Colloquium, jointly organised by the Institute of Tropical Medicine (Antwerp) and the Nepal Wellbeing Investigation Council in Kathmandu (20-23 November 2023), concentrated on the theme of “Understanding the World-wide Landscape of Disease Load in the Context of Weather Change”. Upendra offered on how tobacco impacts surroundings throughout its lifecycle (cultivation, curing, creation, intake, product waste) and how this signifies a wicked general public plan issue demanding large-stage inter-sectoral coordination. On the to start with working day, a assembly was organised of ITM alumni. Upendra (currently being a PhD alumnus 2010-2016) also participated in the meeting. Upendra also set up an art show themed ‘Tobacco & Society’ comprising of 6 pencil-on-paper drawings with curated text locating tobacco within sociocultural and historical contexts. Upendra gave a converse as element of the ITM Alumni assembly utilizing these drawings.
