Kang Dong Won and Park Jeong Min starrer is a story of friendship and betrayal
New character posters for the much-awaited historical drama Uprising, which stars Kang Dong Won in the lead role, have been released. The Uprising poster features Kang Dong Won facing Park Jeong Min, his previous friend, who is now his enemy and looking determined to fight for freedom.
Netflix released the Uprising character posters on September 23, 2024. The first poster features Kang Dong Won as Cheon Yeong, a slave who has decided to fight Park Jeong Min’s Jong Ryeo, a friend turned enemy. The names Cheon Yeong and Jong Ryeo carry significant meaning in the context of the story, symbolizing their roles and the themes of the drama.
With a strong, determined expression on his face that suggests his unshakable will to achieve his freedom and escape the bonds of slavery, the poster showcases Kang Dong Won’s skill as a great swordsman. By doing this, he wants to become a commoner.
His piercing gaze heightens the anticipation of seeing the actor in this uncast role and sends shivers down one’s spine.
Meanwhile, Park Jeong Min’s character undergoes a dramatic transformation. From being Cheon Yeong’s close friend, Jong Ryeo becomes his sworn enemy after Cheon Yeong’s actions. This shift in their relationship adds a layer of intrigue to the story.
He is depicted on the poster as a powerful man with a sword, indicating that he plans to kill anyone in his way. Next, we see Cha Seung Won, who will portray King Seonjo, a king who flees, leaving his people behind. He should be protecting his subjects, but all that matters to him is the power that comes with his position.
Kim Shin Rok’s character, Beom Dong, is a beacon of strength. As the leader of a civilian militia from a modest family, she is ready to face her enemies head-on. Her determined stance with a raised weapon exudes empowerment.
In the meantime, Jin Seon Kyu takes the role of Kim Ja Ryeong, also known as General Kim, a leader who helps the common people. Jung Sung Il changes into Genshin, the vicious Japanese commander.
