In a groundbreaking move that marks the first international adaptation of a Korean drama, the acclaimed series Queen of Tears, starring Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Ji Won, is set to captivate Turkish audiences. The popular show, penned by the writer Park Ji Eun, will be brought to life by the Turkish production houses O3 Medya and DASS Yapım. As their marriage faces challenges, love unexpectedly blossoms anew, exploring the complexities of relationships, crisis, and reconciliation. The casting process for the Turkish adaptation is currently underway, with O3 and DASS Yapım seeking top-tier Turkish talent to portray the roles of Baek Hyun Woo and Hong Hae In.As per a report in Turkish publication Dizilah, a representative from Studio Dragon said in a statement, “We hope to create an amazing series by adding the unique cultural background and imagination of Türkiye to the charm of the original and deliver another heartfelt experience to audiences worldwide.”Sebastian Kim, Head of International Sales at CJ ENM, echoed Ayar’s excitement, sharing, “We are thrilled to see Queen of Tears, this year’s most successful drama, being adapted for Turkish audiences. On Netflix, Queen of Tears has consistently maintained its position in the Global Top 10 TV (Non-English) list for an impressive 15 weeks, demonstrating its global appeal.
