Note that the Mahindra Scorpio Classic Boss Edition draws power from the same engine as the regular model. This means that it gets a familiar 2.2-litre mHawk 4-cylinder turbo diesel engine with variable turbo geometry generating a decent 97 kW (130 hp) and 300 Nm of peak power and torque. Performing the transmission duties is a sole 6-speed manual gearbox (with Cable Shift). The S trim comes with a 7- or 9-seat configuration, while the S11 variant is available with a 7-seat layout only. The prices range from Rs 13.62 lakh to Rs 17.42 lakh, ex-showroom.

My View
It is great to witness special edition iterations of popular cars from the factory. These have an inherent charm to it and you can be assured about the quality since OEMs do it themselves. There is always that doubt about reliability with aftermarket car modifications houses. But such special edition stock models are great for owning a unique iteration of a regular vehicle. I shall keep an eye out for more such cases in times to come.
