Mahindra Thar Roxx Desert Edition Looks Great, We Want One!
Mahindra Thar Roxx is the latest entrant in the Indian automobile market and is creating a lot of buzz.
An eminent digital artist has devised a Desert Edition of the Mahindra Thar Roxx. Roxx is the 5-door iteration of the regular Thar. It aims to remedy the shortcomings of the regular Thar. The off-roading enthusiasts were immensely excited for the Thar Roxx. In fact, there was a huge anticipation about it in the market for a long time. Now that Mahindra has finally launched it at a starting price of Rs 12.99 lakh, ex-showroom, it will be interesting to see how well customers respond to it. For now, let us look at the details of the Desert Edition of the Mahindra Thar Roxx in the virtual realm.

This video comes from SRK Designs on YouTube. The designer has created an almost believable iteration of the off-roading SUV. I must mention here that the 3-door Thar also comes with the Desert Edition model. That is the inspiration from this latest creation too. It features the same colour theme as the regular Thar in this version. Apart from that, this Thar Roxx gets massive dual 5-spoke alloy wheels with high profile tyres. These will ensure ride comfort during treacherous adventurous excursions.
In this rendition, only the side profile is visible. Hence, we get to see the additional door just like on the actual model. The black roof and the triangular rear quarter compartment elevate the ruggedness of the SUV. There is also a sturdy side step which enhances the ingress and egress characteristics of the Thar Roxx. I like the colossal wheel arches along with the large claddings and the clamshell bonnet which lend it an imposing road presence. All in all, this is definitely something I believe could make it to production.
Our View
I often have the complaint that car designers generally go overboard with their creations. While these might look attractive, there is no way they could make it to production. However, with this latest instance, I believe this is as close to being a realistic product as any. I appreciate the mature route the designer has adopted while designing this illustration. I shall keep bringing more examples of such creative digital concepts in times to come.
