The MG Windsor EV, a rebadged version of the internationally sold Wuling Clould EV, has entered India’s electric market, with an affordable starting price of Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The model is available in three variants (Excite, Exclusive, and Essence), and four colours (Starburst Black, Pearl White, Clay Beige, and Turquoise Green). It has several eye-catching features such as a panoramic glass roof and a 15.6-inch touchscreen (largest in its class). While the MG CUV (Crossover Utility Vehicle) has no direct competitors, it rivals the likes of several electric cars in India, including the popular Tata Nexon. Let’s compare these two EVs on paper to see which is a more suitable option.  Windsor EV vs Tata Nexon EV: Powertrain The MG Windsor EV includes a 38kWh battery pack and a single electric motor, providing a range of 331 kilometres on a single charge. The power and torque outputs are 134bhp and 200Nm, respectively. The Nexon EV, on the other hand, comes with two different battery pack configurations: a 30.2kWh and a 40.5kWh. The former produces 127bhp and 215Nm, while the latter generates 141bhp and 215Nm. The vehicle packs a new Gen2 permanent magnet synchronous motor, which is claimed to be more effective, lighter, and clean. The smaller battery has a range of 325 kilometres, while the larger battery offers a range of 465 kilometres. In this category, Tata’s SUV surpasses the MG EV with a larger battery pack and longer driving range.
