And the problem with Master is that at the end of the day Loki would not have been able to do justice to the drama of the first half with the second half. Because the whole point of the 1st half is that JD is just a man and not a god, but the main thing these fans want is for their hero to feel like a god so they can feel like they will “win” the fan fights. Hence I get VP’s approach of not wanting to go too far in setting up any kind of strong story or character and just focus on fanservice instead.
I suppose the other alternative is taking a strong enough but aracha maavu story and the fading outline of a very old character like Atlee did in Theri and Mersal. Anils seem to like that but for me personally it is torture and I preferred this more straightforward, fast approach.
