New Nissan Magnite Launched at INR 5.99 Lakh Gets New Features
Nissan Motor India has unveiled the refreshed Nissan Magnite with a starting price of ₹5.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The compact SUV, first introduced in 2020, has received updates in design, technology, and safety, while also strengthening Nissan’s global footprint by expanding exports to over 65 markets.
Bolder Design and Premium Aesthetics
The new Nissan Magnite’s exterior has been updated with a more aggressive design. Key changes include a larger “Honeycomb” grille, redesigned LED headlamps, and striking L-shaped daytime running lights (DRLs). The rear features LED taillamps with a 3D gradient design, complementing the SUV’s robust look. To enhance its road presence, the Magnite now offers increased ground clearance and 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels.
Customers can choose from 11 different body colors, including 6 monotone and 5 dual-tone options, allowing for greater personalization.
Premium Interior and Comfort Features
Inside, the Magnite continues to impress with upgraded materials and advanced features. The cabin now comes with leatherette finishes, offering a luxurious feel. A unique “Honeycomb” quilting pattern on the seats, leather-wrapped dashboard, and trims elevate the SUV’s overall premium appeal. Additionally, the Magnite offers best-in-class storage, with boot space expandable from 336L to 540L.
Comfort has also been a priority. Features like a cooled glove box, front armrest with storage, and improved seat comfort ensure a relaxed driving experience. The rear cabin offers generous knee room and a high command driving position.
Advanced Technology for Modern Drivers
The new Nissan Magnite boasts over 20 first-in-segment features, including a floating 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Other tech enhancements include a digital instrument cluster, remote engine start, cruise control, and Nissan’s signature Around View Monitor (AVM) that provides a 360-degree view for easier parking.
For audiophiles, the Magnite is equipped with a 3D sound system by Arkamys. A Tech Pack is also available, offering additional features like a wireless charger, premium speakers (JBL-powered by Harman), a dashcam, and LED scuff plates.
Engine and Performance
The new Nissan Magnite offers a choice between two engine options: a 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine and a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual, CVT, and an EZ-Shift (AMT) for the naturally aspirated variant. The turbocharged engine delivers a fuel efficiency of 20 kmpl and is equipped with technologies such as the Mirror Bore Coating Cylinder Block, enhancing both performance and efficiency.
Safety Enhancements
Safety continues to be a top priority for Nissan. The Magnite now includes 40 standard safety features such as six airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Traction Control System (TCS), and Hill Start Assist (HSA). Other features include a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), rear parking sensors, and ISOFIX child seat anchorages.
The body structure has been reinforced with 67% high-tensile steel, ensuring improved crash protection. Additionally, a 3-year/100,000 km warranty is offered as standard, with the option to extend it further.
Strengthening Nissan’s Export Footprint
The Magnite is manufactured at Nissan’s Chennai facility, a key hub for the brand’s global export operations. Since its debut, the Magnite has been exported to several international markets, including the recent addition of left-hand drive markets, further establishing India as a major production base for Nissan.
