Nissan X-Trail is finally in India. The Japanese automaker has launched the three-row SUV as a CBU (completely built up) unit at Rs 49.92 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). There is only a single, fully-loaded variant powered by a 1.5L, three-cylinder turbo petrol engine benefiting from 12V mild hybrid tech. The setup, with a shift-by-wire CVT automatic gearbox, delivers a claimed power of 163bhp and 300Nm of torque. Nissan claims that its engine has variable compression technology optimizing fuel efficiency and performance.
Being a premium offering, the X-Trail comes with a host of advanced features. The SUV has an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and CarPlay connectivity, a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display, wireless phone charger, drive modes, keyless entry and go, cruise control, and electronic parking brake with auto hold function.
In terms of safety, the new Nissan 7-seater SUV offers seven airbags, front parking sensors, ABS with EBD, hill start assist, traction control, limited slip differential, and automatic wipers. The new Nissan X-Trail’s second row seats come with a 40/20/40 split folding ratio along with sliding and reclining functions. In India, the Nissan X-Trail 7-seater SUV directly competes against the Skoda Kodiaq and Volkswagen Tiguan.
