Actor Govinda claimed some time ago that he received an offer to participate in the 2009 James Cameron film Avatar. The revelations surprised everyone, as it is one of the best Hollywood movies, and many wondered if the claims were true. In the interview, the Partner actor claimed that he turned down the movie, which stars Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana. Former CBFC chief Pahlaj Nihalani has now reacted to these claims made by the actor. Stay tuned to BollywoodLife for more updates on Bollywood and TV news. Pahlaj added, “Woh Avatar title se pata nahi uske dimaag mein kya aaya, baad mein claim karta raha ki main waha (Hollywood) ki Avatar kar raha hoon. Nihalani revealed that Govinda had forgotten that the film was actually his. The actor advised him to put it on hold and do something else. Pahlaj further revealed that back then, he got the rights to a Rajinikanth film, directed by K Balachander, in which the actor played a double role. However, when Govinda started shooting for the same thing, strange things started happening. The Bhagam Bhag actor claimed that he was fainting.
Pahlaj recounted how they attempted to complete the film on one schedule, but encountered an unexpected setback when Govinda began fainting unexpectedly. Nihalani speculated about what kind of almonds Govinda might have consumed with tea, which caused him to start feeling unwell and behaving irrationally. The director-producer claims that from that day on, Govinda’s condition worsened, leading him to talk nonsensically and repeatedly delaying the schedule.
Pahlaj Nihalani revealed that although some songs and portions of the climax were still pending, Govinda did not show up for shooting. Despite being ready for the shot, the actor would wake up only to faint again. To this day, Pahlaj remains uncertain about what was in those almonds, considering it a lingering mystery.
Meanwhile, Govinda’s last theatrical release was Rangeela Raja, directed by Pahlaj Nihalai. The film was released in theatres in 2019, and it was a remake of Rajinikanth’s movie Netrikan. Rangeela Raja received poor reviews.
