It was meant to be a Jigra vs Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video clash during Navratri. However, the fireworks began on Dussehra, with actor-producer Divya Khossla firing the first shot last evening by taking a veiled dig at Alia Bhatt, questioning her Jigra houseful claims. Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video is produced by T-Series, while Jigra is produced by Dharma Productions and Alia Bhatt.

Khossla’s grievance stems from Jigra having a similar conflict to that of her film Savi (2024). For the record, Savi is the official remake of the French film Anything For Her (2008).

It didn’t take long for netizens to weigh in, with many dragging Alia’s superstar husband, Ranbir Kapoor, into the controversy. Some felt that Kapoor, who gave T-Series their biggest hit with Animal (2023), should support his wife by quitting the sequel,  Animal Park.

“Ranbir Kapoor, husband of Alia Bhatt, is working on Animal Park, produced by Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series, whose wife, Divya Khossla, posted an Insta story defaming Alia. Now let’s see if this ALPHA MALE on screen stands up for his wife and backs out of Animal Park or not,” one netizen wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

These sentiments went viral on social media, with many urging Kapoor to take a stand for his wife.

Meanwhile, Jigra producer Karan Johar, without naming Khossla, posted an Insta story in which he chose to remain silent rather than respond to “fools.”

This incensed Khossla, who responded, “When you are shamelessly accustomed to stealing what rightfully belongs to others, you will always seek shelter in silence. You will have no spine.”

Khossla’s Savi also featured a similar great escape storyline, but it failed at the box office. Interestingly, while accusing Dharma and Jigra makers of stealing, Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video itself was mired in a plagiarism row. Before the release, Sanjay Tiwari, owner of an entertainment news media outlet, claimed that writer-director Raaj Shaandilyaa had stolen his registered story (logline) from the title Sex Hai Toh Life Hai. After the release, Shaandilyaa and T-Series faced further trouble for spoofing Stree in Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video. Stree producer Maddock Films perhaps sent a legal notice to Shaandilyaa and T-Series, which led to Shaandilyaa issuing a public apology on behalf of himself and his producers.

In its two days so far, both Jigra and Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video have had average box office collections. Jigra has made about Rs11 crore nett, while Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video has made Rs12.25 crore nett, as reported by Boxofficeindia.com.
