Here are the first images of the upcoming Royal Enfield Himalayan 650 motorcycle. The prototype was camouflaged with a transparent plastic sheet, revealing most of its design details. The bike features conventional adventure bike design elements such as a raised windscreen, wide handlebars, a large and muscular fuel tank, and specially positioned instrument clusters. The exhaust pipe is relatively higher than that of the RE Himalayan 450. Styling bits such as turn indicators, the taillight section, and the split seat appear to be carried forward from its 450cc sibling.

The engine setup is likely to be shared with the RE Super Meteor 650. The upcoming Royal Enfield Himalayan 650 will be powered by a 648cc air/oil-cooled twin-cylinder engine. The motor produces a peak power of 47.45 PS and 52 Nm of torque. The suspension setup will be borrowed from the RE Himalayan 450, meaning it will come with a long-travel inverted fork at the front and a monoshock unit at the rear.

Interestingly, the RE Himalayan 650 will be the brand’s first model to feature a dual-petal disc braking system, typically offered on super sport bikes. The bike will ride on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear spoke wheels fitted with tube tires. The spy images reveal that it will feature a 5-inch TFT instrument console, similar to the one in the newly launched Guerrilla 450. The unit is likely to support Google Maps, call/SMS alerts, and music controls.

When it comes to pricing, the new Royal Enfield Himalayan 650 is likely to cost around Rs 4 lakh – Rs 4.2 lakh (ex-showroom). In the adventure 650cc bike segment, it will face competition from the Moto Morini X-Cape 650 and Kawasaki Versys 650.
