Skoda has unveiled a remarkable special edition of its outgoing Mk3 Superb Estate in the UK, aptly named the ‘Sleeper Edition.’ While its exterior might resemble a standard Superb, this limited-production model boasts impressive performance upgrades that set it apart. The Sleeper Edition has been introduced as a tribute to the Mk3 series, but it will not be available for public purchase.
Underneath its unassuming exterior, the Mk3 Superb Sleeper Edition is powered by a formidable 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine. This engine has been meticulously tuned to deliver an impressive 470 bhp and 661 Nm of torque, a significant increase from the standard model’s 270 bhp and 350 Nm of torque. These enhancements are achieved through the installation of a larger Garrett Powermax turbocharger, an upgraded intercooler, and a refined fuel system, all while retaining the factory-fitted exhaust system to maintain the vehicle’s understated aesthetic.
The Sleeper Edition also features KW coilover suspension, which lowers the ride height by 50 mm, and AP Racing disc brakes with striking red six-pot calipers, subtly hinting at the car’s enhanced capabilities. The model is finished in an elegant Royal Green Metallic paint with luxurious Cognac leather upholstery, further emphasizing its unique blend of performance and subtlety.
