Skoda’s Superb Sportline: The Ultimate Fusion of Luxury and Sportiness
Skoda Auto has globally unveiled the new Sportline variant for the fourth-generation Superb, elevating the model with sportier aesthetics, enhanced chassis dynamics, and a host of new features.
Sleeker Design and Aggressive Stance
The Skoda Superb Sportline is offered in two body styles: sedan (Hatch) and estate (Combi). It distinguishes itself with an array of blacked-out exterior elements, including the radiator grille frame, window frames, and the Skoda badging at the rear. The gloss black mirror caps, Sportline badging on the front fenders, and 18-inch (standard) or 19-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels further enhance its aggressive stance. The sedan variant features a black strip on the tailgate diffuser, while the estate gets black roof rails.
Performance-Oriented Chassis and Powertrain
Riding 15mm lower than the standard Superb range, the Sportline variant benefits from a sports-tuned chassis. For those seeking an even more dynamic driving experience, Dynamic Chassis Control is available as an optional extra.
Under the hood, the Superb Sportline is powered by a 265bhp 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine, ensuring a spirited drive that complements its sporty design.
Premium Interiors with Sporty Flair
Inside, the Superb Sportline features an all-black theme with artificial leather upholstery, a headliner, and faux-carbon fibre decorative elements on the dashboard and door cards. The cabin also boasts heated sports seats with integrated headrests, a massage function, and manually adjustable thigh support. For those desiring more, the optional Suite Sport Design Selection adds AGR-certified ergonomic sports seats with heating, ventilation, and massage functions. Additional interior highlights include stainless steel pedals, ambient lighting, a 3-spoke sports steering wheel with Skoda badging, and a 13.0-inch infotainment system.
Market Positioning and Availability
The Skoda Superb, in its second generation, was reintroduced to the Indian market in April 2024 as a fully imported model. Priced at Rs 54 lakh (ex-showroom), the L&K variant is the only option available. While the Sportline trim was previously offered on the third-generation Superb, it was discontinued due to the implementation of BS6 Phase II emission regulations.
