SSB Interview PPDT & TAT Pictures

The SSB ( Staff Selection Board ) interview is the next step toward joining the Indian Armed Forces. SSB is a five-day interview process in which the professionalism, physical ability test, and mental ability tests take place. Aspirants will have to clear the SSB interview to fulfill their dream of joining the National Defence Academy. Both of these are picture evaluation tests and story writing which lets the interviewer know the thinking and decision-making capability of the candidate. Picture Perception And Discussion Test ( PPDT )

The five-day SSB interview consists of many steps and the PPDT picture perception and discussion test is one of them in which the decision-making ability and teamwork ability are tested of the competitors. A picture is shown to the competitors for 30 to 40 seconds, and then they will have to write a story related to the picture in the given time.

After this, the competitors are divided into groups and they will have to come up with a similar story according to the picture. This shows the ability of an individual to work in a team and their thinking capacity. PPDT is a stage 1 screening test, and the whole test takes place in 4 minutes and a blurred image is shown to the competitors which makes it more difficult for them.

(TAT) Thematic Apperception Test

SSB interview consists of 4 physiological tests and TAT ( Thematic Apperception Test ) is the first one of them. In this test, the competitors are shown 11 clear pictures for 30 seconds and they are asked to write a story on every picture. 4 minutes are provided for each story, and the stories are generally to be written in the context of the picture.

Time management is very important to clear this step of the exam, TAT is conducted to test the personality of the competitor, their thinking ability, and emotion control. To clear this step a regular stable practice with crucial pictures is mandatory, being mature and having control of your emotions is the biggest weapon to clear it.

Regular and stable practice is mandatory to clear these stages of the exam. Aspirants should know how to deal with their emotions in the moment and a relevant and meaningful story should be presented in front of the seniors. Most of the pictures shown are related to the issues in society and how they will deal with them if they achieve success.

Some basic points that are to be remembered are a meaningful full story, issues shown in the picture, writing facts, and being real. Although tough preparation is mandatory for the whole interview process.
