Swachhta Pakhwada celebration begins at AMU – India Education | Latest Education News | Global Educational News
ALIGARH : The annual Swachhta Pakhwada observance programmes began at the Aligarh Muslim University with several schools and departments of studies organizing cleanliness activities and awareness programmes related to it.
The Syedna Taher Saifuddin (STS) School launched a two-day Swachhta campaign to promote cleanliness and hygiene among students. The campaign began with Sharamdaan activities with students participating in various events including cleaning of school premises under the guidance of Dr. Naseem Ahmad, Mr. Mohammad Adnan Khan and Mr. Mohammad Asim, art work like poster making, slogan writing and painting under the guidance of the art teacher, Mr Mohd Shakir, and an awareness lecture by Prof Jabir Hasan Khan (retired from the Department of Geography).
In his address, the School Principal, Mr Faisal Nafis stressed the importance of cleanliness and its impact on health and personal well-being. He urged the students to keep the spirit of Swachhta alive throughout the year and educate others to maintain a high degree of cleanliness in their daily lives.
Mr Nafis also conducted a Swachhta pledge to the students, teachers and staff.
In his lecture, Prof Jabir Hasan Khan focused on conservation of water highlighting the critical state of global water resources because of overuse, pollution and climate change.
Dr. Tanweer Husain Khan (Vice Principal) welcomed the guest speaker and later extended a vote of thanks.
Ms. Nasreen Fatima, Mrs. Ghazala Tanvir, Mr. Farhan Habib, Mr. Mohammad Asim and Proctors of S.T.S. School played a key role in organizing the event.
