Tata Motors Launches Nexon iCNG and New Nexon.ev Variants
Tata Motors has introduced the Nexon iCNG and new additions to the Nexon.ev range, including a 45 kWh battery variant and the flagship Red Hot #DARK edition.
With over 700,000 units sold since its launch in 2017, the Tata Nexon remains a top contender in the Indian SUV market. These latest additions aim to cater to a wider audience, ensuring that the Nexon offers something for every type of driver.
Nexon iCNG: India’s First Turbocharged CNG SUV
The Nexon iCNG, powered by a 1.2-litre turbocharged engine, is India’s first CNG vehicle to feature turbocharging. It generates 100 PS of power and 170 Nm of torque, offering a strong performance without compromising on fuel efficiency. This model also includes a segment-leading 321-litre boot space, made possible by Tata’s twin-cylinder technology.
In terms of features, it comes equipped with a panoramic sunroof, leatherette ventilated seats, and a 10.25-inch Harman infotainment screen. It also maintains Tata’s safety reputation with a 5-star G-NCAP rating and advanced safety systems, including leak detection, fire protection, and rear impact protection.
Nexon.ev: New 45 kWh Battery Pack and Red Hot #DARK Edition
The Nexon.ev range now includes a new 45 kWh battery pack, offering a certified range of up to 489 km (Urban + Extra Urban). Tata’s C75 near-real-world range estimate for this variant sits between 350 and 370 km, making it a solid option for those seeking long-range electric driving. With faster charging speeds at a 1.2C rating, the 45 kWh battery addresses concerns over range anxiety and high acquisition costs, making electric vehicles more attractive to Indian consumers.
For those looking for something more premium, Tata has introduced the Red Hot #DARK edition of the Nexon.ev. This variant offers red-themed design elements throughout the interior and exterior, as well as exclusive features like a unique UI for the infotainment system, a panoramic sunroof, and a front trunk (frunk). It also includes tech features such as Arcade.ev, vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) and vehicle-to-load (V2L) technology, and a digital control panel.
