In the list of top 10 midsize SUVs in September 2024, Hyundai Creta finished on top ahead of Mahindra Scorpio, Maruti Grand Vitara and XUV700
In September 2024, the Hyundai Creta stood out as India’s top-selling SUV, achieving the third-highest overall car sales in the country. The midsize SUV saw a notable rise in demand, with 15,902 units sold – a 25 per cent year-on-year growth compared to the 12,717 units sold in the same period in 2023.
In September 2024, Mahindra’s Scorpio lineup, including both the Scorpio N and Classic models, reached domestic sales of 14,438 units, showing a 22 per cent increase compared to the 11,846 units sold in the same month the previous year. On the other hand, the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara experienced a decline.
It registered 10,267 units in sales, down from 11,736 units in September 2023, representing a 13 per cent decrease year-on-year as it finished third behind the Scorpio range. The Mahindra XUV700 garnered a local tally of 9,646 units last month as against 8,555 units during the same period twelve months ago with a YoY volume growth of 13 per cent.

The Kia Seltos finished in the fifth position but it endured the highest de-growth within the top ten of 34 per cent as 6,959 units were posted against 10,558 units in September 2023. In the second half of the table, the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder finished sixth with 5,385 units as against 3,804 units with a YoY positive volume increase of 42 per cent.
The Hyundai Alcazar finished eighth behind Tata Curvv with 2,712 units as against 1,977 units during the same period last year with a YoY growth of 37 per cent. The arrival of the facelift has helped in increasing its volume tally in India. The Skoda Kushaq came in ninth ahead of Tata Safari and Volkswagen Taigun.

The Kushaq posted 1,767 units as against 2,260 units with a YoY decline of 22 per cent while the Tata Safari finished tenth with 1,644 units as against 516 units.
