Ultraviolette Unveils India’s First Superbike, Aims to Set New Speed Records

Ultraviolette Automotive has unveiled the F99 Factory Racing Platform, touted as the country’s first-ever superbike. Designed and engineered entirely at Ultraviolette’s R&D headquarters in Bengaluru, the F99 is set to challenge speed records for Indian motorcycles in the coming months.

First showcased as a concept at the EICMA motorcycle show in Milan in 2023, the F99 now enters the pre-production prototype stage, bringing Ultraviolette’s vision of “Designed in India, Designed for the World” closer to reality. With more than double the power output of any existing production motorcycle from an Indian manufacturer, the F99 is poised to elevate India’s reputation in high-performance motorcycling.

Breaking Records

Over the next 90 days, the F99 aims to set two key records for Indian motorcycles:

The Highest Top Speed

The Fastest Quarter Mile

These ambitious goals reflect Ultraviolette’s commitment to pushing technological boundaries.

A New Era for Indian Motorcycles

The F99 Factory Racing Platform highlights India’s growing capabilities in innovation and design. Narayan Subramaniam, CEO of Ultraviolette Automotive, emphasized that the F99 represents a shift in India’s role in the global automotive market. “For too long, India has been seen as a hub for value-engineered products for other companies. With the talent and technological focus we have here, it’s time to dream of creating world-class, high-performance motorcycles in India.”

Ultraviolette’s focus on racing technology serves as a proving ground for innovation, with developments from the F99 likely to influence future models. The company’s CTO, Niraj Rajmohan, added that the F99 is a disruptive technology, setting new benchmarks for electric superbikes globally. “India is ready to move beyond its reputation for contract manufacturing. With bikes like the F99, we can take our place as a leading design and engineering hub in the automotive world.”

Ultraviolette’s Expansion Plans

Ultraviolette is also expanding its footprint with its F77 electric motorcycle, currently available in five cities: Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kochi, Ahmedabad, and Pune. In the coming month, the company plans to launch in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Visakhapatnam, and Mangalore.
