Updated Citroën C3 Launched in India at Rs 6.16 Lakh; Now Offers Automatic Transmission

Following the recent introductions of the Basalt and the C3 Aircross, Citroën has refreshed its C3 hatchback, adding several new features and the much-anticipated automatic gearbox option. The 2024 Citroën C3 is now available in India, with prices starting at Rs 6.16 lakh (ex-showroom).

The updated C3 introduces a range of enhancements, some of which will also be featured in the larger C3 Aircross. The most notable update is the addition of an automatic transmission, which replaces the previous manual-only option. Pricing details for the automatic variants have not yet been announced, but the manual versions are priced between Rs 6.16 lakh and Rs 9.42 lakh (ex-showroom).

The 2024 Citroën C3 is offered in eight variants: Live, Feel, Shine, Shine Vibe Pack, Shine Dual Tone, Shine Dual Tone Vibe Pack, Shine Turbo Dual Tone, and Shine Dual Tone Vibe. The top-end Shine Dual Tone Vibe Pack has seen a price increase of Rs 30,000, bringing its cost to Rs 9.41 lakh.

Externally, the C3 retains its previous design but now features projector LED headlights on the top-spec Shine trim and electrically adjustable wing mirrors with integrated indicators. Inside, the C3 now includes a 7.0-inch full-digital instrument display and automatic climate control on the Shine variants. Additionally, the updated C3 comes with six airbags across all variants, as well as ABS with EBD and ISOFIX child seat mounting points.

The updated model maintains its 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine, producing 82 bhp and 115 Nm of torque in its naturally aspirated form, which continues to be paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox. The turbocharged variant, however, is now available with both a 6-speed manual and a new 6-speed automatic gearbox. The turbo engine delivers the same 110 bhp across both transmissions, with torque varying between 190 Nm in the manual and 205 Nm in the automatic.

With these updates, the Citroën C3 aims to offer a more versatile and feature-rich option for buyers in the Indian market.
