The 2024 Triumph Speed 400 has been launched in India alongside the new Speed T4, the most affordable 400cc bike from the British bikemaker. The former is priced at Rs 2.40 lakh, while the latter costs Rs 2.17 lakh. All prices mentioned are ex-showroom. The new Speed 400 is over Rs 5,000 more expensive than its previous version. The updated model lineup is now available in four color schemes: Pearl Metallic White, Racing Yellow, Racing Red, and Phantom Black.
Minimal changes have been made to its design. The new Triumph Speed 400 continues to feature the same chassis and body panels as the outgoing model. However, its seat is 10mm thicker, ensuring more comfortable long-distance rides. The high-profile radial tyres from Vredestein further enhance its riding experience. The bike also comes with five-step adjustable clutch and brake levers.
Powering the new 2024 Triumph Speed 400 is the same 398cc TR-Series engine, paired with a 6-speed gearbox and a torque-assist clutch. The engine delivers a claimed power output of 39.5bhp at 8,000rpm and 37.5Nm of torque at 6,500rpm. The bike retains its switchable traction control and ride-by-wire system, along with 43mm big-piston USD front forks with 140mm travel and a mono-shock rear suspension setup.
The updated Speed 400 rides on 17-inch wheels shod with 110/80 front tyres and 150/70 rear tyres. Braking power comes from four-piston radial front brakes with a 300mm front disc and a 230mm disc at the rear. It also comes equipped with dual-channel ABS. The full LED lighting system and semi-digital instrument cluster have also been retained.
