Volkswagen Virtus GT Plus Sport & GT Line Trims Launched

Volkswagen Virtus gets two new trims and the entire lineup has also been updatedVolkswagen India has expanded its Virtus and Taigun lineup with the introduction of new trims, adding more features and style to both models. The Virtus sedan now comes in two new variants – GT Line and GT Plus Sport – starting at Rs. 14.07 lakhs and Rs. 17.84 lakhs (ex-showroom), respectively. Additionally, a new Highline Plus trim has been launched for both the Virtus and Taigun SUV, enhancing the feature set in lower-spec variants.Volkswagen Virtus GT Line and GT Plus SportThe new Virtus GT Line brings the sportier, blacked-out aesthetics from the 1.5 TSI variants to the 1.0 TSI lineup. First showcased in March 2023, the GT Line has been placed below the Topline variant. It features black alloy wheels, a blacked-out grille, roof and wing mirrors, dark chrome door handles and a gloss black spoiler. GT Line badges appear on the fenders and boot, further distinguishing it from other trims.In terms of equipment, the GT Line includes an electric sunroof, 8-inch digital instrument cluster, 10-inch infotainment system, six airbags, ESC (Electronic Stability Control), front fog lamps, red ambient lighting, aluminium pedals, hill hold control and tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS). The cabin is all-black with grey stitching, contributing to its sporty interior look.The GT Plus Sport variant, equipped with the 1.5 TSI engine, is available with both 6-speed manual and 7-speed DCT transmissions. This trim continues the blacked-out styling but adds red “GT” badges, red brake callipers, a dual-tone roof and an aero kit for a more aggressive look. Inside, it comes with ventilated and electrically adjustable front seats, black leatherette upholstery with red stitching and red accents on the steering wheel.Volkswagen Taigun GT LineThe Taigun GT Line, which has already been on sale, has received feature updates. It now includes an 8-inch digital instrument cluster, sunroof, push-button start/stop, aluminium pedals, rain-sensing wipers and automatic headlamps. This variant is only available with the 1.0 TSI engine in both manual and automatic versions.Highline Plus Trim for Virtus and TaigunVolkswagen has introduced a new Highline Plus trim for the 1.0 TSI variants of both the Virtus and Taigun, slotting it between the Highline and Topline trims. This new variant borrows several features from the higher Topline variant, including the 8-inch digital instrument cluster, auto-dimming IRVM, push-button start/stop, sunroof, auto headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, and follow-me-home lighting functionality. Additionally, the Topline variants now come equipped with an amplifier and subwoofer for an improved audio experience.PricingVolkswagen has yet to release a full, detailed price list post-update. However, the Virtus is now priced between Rs. 11.56 lakhs and Rs. 19.41 lakhs, while the Taigun’s pricing ranges from Rs. 11.70 lakhs to Rs. 20 lakhs (ex-showroom, India).
