Watch India-Bound New Renault Duster Driving on Two Wheels

It is not every day that you come across mass-market cars being driven on two wheels for any reason at all

The India-bound new Renault Duster was recently spotted being driven on two wheels. Duster was an immensely popular name in our market almost a decade ago. In fact, it must be credited with being the product which led to the creation of the mid-size SUV segment in India. Today, it is one of the biggest and most competitive spaces in our market. Unfortunately, the Duster was not able to sustain the pressure from the competition and is currently no longer on sale. However, the French carmaker has already launched the new-gen Duster in many international markets. We will experience it on our shores in the coming years as well.

New Renault Duster Driving on Two Wheels

The details of this post stem from karan_vishwakarmax on Instagram. The visuals showcase a rather interesting and sporty instance. You will notice the new Renault Duster in an isolated location. This looks like somewhere outside India. The driver drives the SUV up a ramp which makes the SUV balance on two wheels. I must admit that the talent and skills of the driver are able to carry that momentum and the Duster keeps moving on the two left side tyres for a considerable distance. The fact that a mass-market SUV is able to pull off such a stunt is quite impressive.

In the international markets, the new Renault Duster is available with multiple powertrain options. These include a 1.0-litre 3-cyl LPG + Petrol unit which produces a decent 100 hp, a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder petrol engine with mild hybrid tech which generates a healthy 130 hp and a 1.6-litre 4-cyl hybrid engine which churns out an impressive 140 hp of peak power. Performing the traffic duties is either a manual or an automatic transmission. Also, the Duster comes with FWD or AWD configurations. Therefore, the buyers will be able to select all sorts of combinations as per their needs. It remains to be seen which variant makes it to our shores.

Our View

It is not common to see regular SUVs getting involved in such activities. Nevertheless, a lot depends on the skills and experience of the driver. The top drivers are able to manoeuvre just about any car in any way possible. Also, cases like these will create a buzz around the mid-size SUV before making its India debut. I feel such marketing is needed if the vehicle needs to challenge the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, etc. in India. Let us keep an eye out for more details as and when they emerge.
