Anurag Kashyap who began his Bollywood career with Ram Gopal Varma’s “Satya” has become a big name in Hindi cinema. Known for directing acclaimed films like “Gangs of Wasseypur” and “Manmarziyaan”, Anurag has established himself as a celebrated filmmaker with a distinct style.

During an episode of The Kapil Sharma Show marking 10 years of “Gangs of Wasseypur”, Kapil Sharma shared a hilarious story from director Anubhav Sinha. Anurag Kashyap recalled a moment when actor Manoj Bajpayee, feeling highly emotional, chased him with a stone outside the home of legendary lyricist Gulzar. The incident was light-hearted, spurred by the playful nature of filmmaker Hansal Mehta, who often invited them over to sample his culinary experiments.
Anurag Kashyap said that they both (Anurag & Manoj) were always hungry so they used to visit Hansal Mehta for tasting dishes and during a conversation over there, Manoj Bajpayee got emotional. Anurag Kashyap said that Manoj felt as if he was insulted in front of Gulzar sahab and he ran with stone after him (Anurag). Anurag added that he was running ahead, Manoj was after him and Hansal was trying to stop them and after that, they sat on the roadside, cried and hugged each other.

Anurag Kashyap has collaborated with Manoj Bajpayee on several films, including “Gangs of Wasseypur”, “Satya” and “Shool”. Renowned for his unique filmmaking approach, Kashyap directed the “Gangs of Wasseypur” series, co-wrote the screenplay for Ram Gopal Varma’s “Satya” and penned the dialogues for Eeshwar Nivas’ “Shool”. His distinctive style has made him one of the most influential directors in the Hindi film industry.
Apart from his directorial ventures, Anurag Kashyap has also explored acting. This year, he appeared in the Tamil mystery film “Maharaja” alongside Vijay Sethupathi. Most recently, he portrayed the villain Kazbe in a series “Bad Cop”.
