200 BYD Seal High Performance Electric Sedans Delivered On A Single Day

BYD is one of the latest entrant in the Indian electric passenger car segment. One of the latest models that they launched in the market recently was the BYD Seal. BYD launched the electric sedan few months ago and it quickly gained customers attention due to several reasons. One of them was the pricing. The Deliveries for the BYD Seal has already started and we have now come across a report where BYD has delivered not 10 or 20 but, 200 units of BYD seal sedans on a single day.

BYD had actually organised an event where it delivered 200 units of BYD Seal to customers across different parts of the country. The Seal is currently the flagship model from BYD in India. The Chinese electric car manufacturer also mentioned that they have received over 1,000 bookings for the Seal sedan in the last 3 months. The bookings for this performance electric sedan had started late February this year.
BYD Seal is offered in three variants namely – Dynamic, Premium and Performance. The BYD Seal is offered with two battery pack options: a 61.44kWh battery and an 82.56kWh battery, both featuring BYD’s proprietary blade battery technology.

The BYD Seal is available with flush-fitting door handles, 19-inch alloy wheels, premium looking exterior design, LED headlights and tail lamps,15.6 inch touchscreen infotainment screen, 10.25 inch digital instrument cluster, HUD, 8-way electronically adjustable driver’s seat with memory function, heated and ventilated seats for front passenger and driver, wireless phone charging, panoramic sunroof, powered tailgate, a 50-liter frunk and many more.
BYD is also offering a long list of safety features with the Seal. It comes with 10 airbags, ABS with hill hold assist, automatic wipers, a 360-degree camera, and advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS). The car has also earned a 5-star safety rating from Euro NCAP. BYD has priced the Seal quite aggressively and the Seal competes with cars like the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6 in the segment.

The BYD Seal with 61.44 kWh battery pack powers the electric motor at the rear. The RWD version generates 204 Ps and 310 Nm of peak torque. This version has a claimed range of 510 Km. The smaller battery pack is offered with the entry level Dynamic variant.
Next is the Premium variant which uses the 82.56 kWh battery pack. This is also the RWD variant. The Premium variant generates 312 Ps and 360 Nm of peak torque. The Premium variant has a claimed driving range of 650 Km.
BYD Seal
Third and the most expensive variant is the Performance version. This variant is also powered by the same 82.56 kWh battery pack however, instead of single motor, this is powered by two motors. The dual-motor version of the Seal sends power to all wheels which means this is the AWD variant. The AWD variant of the BYD Seal generates 523 Ps and 670 Nm of peak torque. In fact it is one of the fastest electric vehicle in this segment. The driving range of the AWD version drops to 580 km.
The top-end Performance variant is as fast as a sports car. BYD claims that the Seal AWD version can do 0-100 Kmph in just 3.8 seconds.
