Tata Nexon EV Owner Puts Wet Sack on Roof to Beat Sumer

Indian summers can actually give you and your vehicles a tough time. With temperatures hitting almost 50 degree Celsius, some of the most well-maintained cars can experience malfunctions and increased wear and tear. Many times, the car air conditioners pretty much struggled to cool down the cabin efficiently. Recently, a photo shows a Tata Nexon EV owner having put a wet sack on roof for faster cooling of the cabin. We’re not sure of the efficiency of this ‘jugaad’ but this case clearly highlights the plight of many car owners these days.

As per the post, the Tata Nexon EV shown in the picture belongs to a senior cardiologist at IGIC Patna, Bihar. Reportedly, the cardiologist was unhappy with the AC performance of the vehicle. However, the service centre staff couldn’t resolve the issue to his satisfaction. Hence, he took the matter in his own hands and resorted to the makeshift solution. The post reads: “He approached the service center regarding poor performance of AC. Service center people could not solve the matter, so from last summer he has been using this jugaad.”

How to Keep Your Car Interior Cool This Indian Summer

As we said, summers in India get brutally hot. The greenhouse effect quickly turns car interiors into an oven. This makes things very uncomfortable. Below are some tips to keep your car interior cool:

1. Use Sunshades

Front and Rear Sunshades: Put sunshades on the front and rear windshields of your car. They reduce the temperature inside the car by reflecting sunlight.

Window Sunshades: Use window sunshades for windows.

2. Park Smartly

Shade: Always park in the shade. You can park below trees, buildings, or any overhead cover.

Underground Parking: Where applicable, park underground to shield your car from sunlight.

3. Tint Your Windows

Legal Tinting: Put window tints, albeit, ones in legal limit.

UV Protection: Ensure the tint has UV protection to block harmful rays and keep the car interior cooler.

4. Use a Car Cover

Reflective Car Covers: Use a reflective car cover to keep the car cool. It will even protect the paint.

5. Use Seat Covers

Light-Colored Covers: Opt for light-colored seat covers.

Breathable Fabrics: Choose seat covers made from breathable materials.

6. Install Ventilated Seat Cushions

Cooling Cushions: Use ventilated seat cushions with cooling functions.

7. Use Air Conditioning Wisely

Pre-Cool Your Car: Start the car’s AC a few minutes before starting the trip.

Regular Maintenance: Ensure your car’s AC system is well-maintained.

8. Keep Windows Slightly Open

Ventilation: Leave windows slightly open when parking the vehicle. This will allow better air circulation and less heat buildup.

Window Visors: Install window visors to keep the rain out while letting hot air escape.

By following these tips, you can keep your car interior cool and comfortable during the scorching Indian summer. Stay cool and drive safely!
