Yash Thakur’s Fifer Hands Lucknow a Convincing Win Against Gujarat

IPL 2024 LSG vs GT Highlights: KL Rahul led Lucknow Super Giants handed the third defeat of the season for Gujarat Titans by beating them by 33 runs in Lucknow on April 7, 2024.
LSG who lost their first match against Rajasthan Royals made a strong comeback by winning their next two games before this clash. On the other hand, Gujarat won their first game and lost their second game and then managed to pull a win against SRH in their 3rd game. But failed to register a victory in their fourth game before this clash.

Winning the toss, Lucknow Super Giants won the toss and elected to bat first where Quinton de Kock and KL Rahul opened the inning.
At home, LSG failed to execute the dream start as Umesh Yadav dismissed de Kock for just 6 runs in the first over. In 3rd over, Umesh struck again and dismissed Padikkal for 7 runs. With a couple of quick wickets, LSG gets under pressure to build a partnership.
Stoinis on joining hands with Padikkal gave the expected partnership and made 73 runs stand for the next wicket. Darshan Nalkande dismissed Stoinis for 58 runs an brought Gujarat Titans back in the game.
With Pooran’s unbeaten 32 runs, LSG managed to score 163 runs for 5 wickets loss at the end of 20 overs.
On the other hand, Gujarat Titans’ opening duo made a steady start and scored 54 runs for the 1st wicket. Yash Thakur made the much-needed breakthrough by dismissing Gill for 19 runs in the final ball of the powerplay.
Following his dismissal, Gujarat batters failed to build partnerships and lost their wickets at regular intervals. At the end of 15 overs, GT scored 93 runs for 7 wickets.
With Yash Thakur’s five-wicket haul, Lucknow Super Giants defeats Gujaart Titans by 33 runs.
