Vellarikka Dosa – Vinaya’s Culinary Delights

Vellarikka is cucumber in Malayalam… Creating dosa or even Idli applying cucumber is common in the Southern states of India… It is served possibly with a coconut chutney or with pickle or thokku…

Process:

250 gms raw rice

1 cucumber deskinned and chopped

5 tbsps grated coconut

1/2 tsp cumin seeds

4 green chillies

1 inch piece of ginger

Salt

Oil for roasting the dosa.

Method:

Soak the rice for all over 4 hours. Drain and grind it together with the chopped cucumber, cumin seeds, ginger and environmentally friendly chillies to a clean paste. Increase enough water to make the batter circulation freely. Increase salt. Mix perfectly. Warmth a skillet. It must be seriously hot. This guarantees that the dosa  will get an evenly porous texture.

Pour a ladleful of batter on the warm skillet and swish it all-around. Drizzle a tsp of  oil, lower warmth and allow the dosa to cook dinner. Get rid of it as it commences leaving the sides of the skillet. Clear away, fold and provide very hot.

Note:

This dosa is not flipped above. You can also use rice flour if you are in a hurry. Just pulverise the other components in advance of incorporating it to the rice flour. Rest of the treatment continues to be the very same.
